Relaxing

For a restful summer holiday there is a sunny lawn with loungers beside a little brook, a barbecue area and a table tennis table. On this side of the valley the sun shines until late in the evening, perhaps time for a game of table tennis, badminton or boccia. Or simply make yourself comfortable on the terraces, loggias and balconies.

Swimming

Just a few minutes’ walk away is Ellmau’s Kaiserbad with indoor pool, outdoor pool, bathing lake and sauna. The Going bathing lake, set against the backdrop of the Kaiser mountains, is 10 minutes away by car, the Hintersteiner See above Scheffau 20 minutes, and the Schwarzsee near Kitzbühel, a pleasantly warm moor lake, 25 minutes.

Hiking

The house is an ideal starting point for walks without a car, whether in the gentle alpine pastures of the Hartkaiser or the demanding high mountains of the Wilder Kaiser. There are more than 200 km of well-kept trails around Ellmau. Highlights include the Christmas rose walk in April around the Walleralm, the alpine roses in bloom in early June and the mountain bonfires on the weekend after the summer solstice.

Golf, cycling and more

Cycle paths and mountain bike routes lead through the valley and up to the alpine pastures. Golfers are especially lucky: the 18-hole Wilder Kaiser golf course opposite the village is within walking distance of the house. There is also tennis, riding, paragliding, rafting on the nearby white water, a summer toboggan run and plenty of Tyrolean events.
